Finding A Different Perspective…

Far too often I get stuck in my own head. I lose an overall perspective and get focused only what I can see in that moment. I’ve been actively working to get out of that habit, but more times than I like to admit my emotions cloud that effort. So to correct that, I look for perspective and inspiration from the world around me, I live in the woods and nature tends to provide me with more perspective and inspiration than I could have ever realize.

Do 12 Step Programs Work For First Responers???

You can go to a 12 step meeting and hear other people’s stories and decide if there are any similarities between their stories and yours. You can overcome some of your denial about addiction. You see that addiction can affect anybody. Good people, with good jobs, good families, and a sense of humor, can have an addiction. You may know that intellectually, but you need to believe it. Everybody likes to think that they’re special. But addiction is one of those times when it’s comforting to know that you’re not alone.

Sleep… Let’s Get Down To The Basics

Sleep and mental health have a complicated relationship. When you don’t get enough sleep, your mental well-being can suffer, lowering your mood and making you fatigued. Meanwhile, stress and anxiety can keep you up at night, creating an endless loop of poor sleep and poor mental health. In order to break this cycle, you need to focus on relaxing and winding down at night so you can get the shut-eye you need.
